Adela Vasquez Alvarez, 94, of Ganado, Texas, on April 27, 2026, went to be with the lord surrounded
by her loved ones. Adela will be remembered for her strong spirit, faith and unfailing presence in
her family’s lives.
She was born on September 10, 1931 in Ganado to Juan and Regina Vasquez. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Natividad "Frank" Alvarez, Sr., her sisters, Victoria, Dolores, Apolonia,
Carmen, Maria, Eloisa, and Ramona Vasquez; her brothers, Elias, Pablo, Juan Jr., Manuel, and
Vicente Vasquez; and her grandsons, Natividad Alvarez III and great-grandson Hector Javier
Rios Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Natividad Alvarez Jr. (Manuela); Felix Alvarez (Barbara);
Benny Marroquin; and Michael Alvarez (Rachel); and her daughters, Irene Alvarez and Sally
Alvarez. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Alvarez, Natividad Alvarez Jr., Felix Alvarez, Benny Marroquin,
Chris Alvarez, Jacob Alvarez, Samuel Alvarez and Natividad Alvarez IV. Honorary pallbearers
include Gabriel Alvarez and Joseph Rosalez.
All services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin
Mary Catholic Church located at 108 S Sixth St, Ganado, Texas, 77962. The visitation will start
at 9 a.m., followed by the rosary at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10 a.m. The burial will follow the
service at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery on County Road 251, Ganado, Texas.
Services have been entrusted to the Todish Family of Ganado and Slavik Funeral Homes.
