Bennie Matcek, Jr., 76, of Ganado, passed away on Thursday November 14, 2024. Bennie was born on October 2, 1948, to Bennie and Elsie Hafner Matcek. He married the love of his life, Sheryl Hartl Macek on October 5, 1974. He was a lifetime resident of Jackson County. Bennie loved farming and enjoyed a cold beer and cutting up on the dance floor with his wife, Sheryl. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sheryl, sons Jason Matcek and Nathan Matcek (Jodi), granddaughter Jade Matcek, sister Gail Guthman (Tommy) and brother Perry Matcek (Kelli). The family will receive visitors on Monday November 18, 2024, at 9:00am at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado. A rosary will be recited at 9:30am with a funeral mass beginning at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers are Clinton Matcek, Dustin Guthman, Lonnie Bures, Michael Chanek, Troy Riha, and Brian Morales. Honorary pallbearers are Jade Matcek, Laina Moomaw, Lindsey McPherson, Amanda Guthman, Terrie Allsup, Sarah Kaminska, Rachel Krauser, Tony Snyder, Cody Snyder, Johnathan Krauser, and Matthew Krauser. Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Slavik and Ganado Funeral Homes.
