Bobby Williams Obituary

Bobby Joe Williams, a loving husband, the best father, greatest "Poppy" to his four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and amazing brother, passed away on July 13, 2025.

He was born in Prairie Lea, TX and lived in Luling where he attended school until about the 8th grade. The family then moved to Edna.  He always loved making the trip back to Luling for some of that good BBQ from the City Market.

He met the love of his life and best friend Shirley Clements of Ganado, and they were married in March 1963.  He worked at Alcoa for 33 years until his retirement.  He enjoyed attending Alcoa's 25-year club along with monthly Alcoa coffee club meetings. He loved talking and joking around with everyone he met.  He would volunteer to be a Salvation Army bell ringer and also enjoyed being a greeter at church as well as working security for Judgment House at First Baptist.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley Clements Williams; daughters Karen Williams, Kim Farquhar (Marcus) and Kristi Doyle (Tony); grandchildren Kendall Tipton (Mark), Travis Farquhar (Sarah), Karsen Novian (Ross) and Brynna Boone (Wesley), great-grandchildren Tenley Tipton, Tucker Tipton, Rosie Farquhar, Collins Novian, Nora Novian, and Parker Boone; and sisters Betty Clark, Peggy Chase (Jim) and Dorothy Reckaway (Charles).  He is preceded in death by his parents Roger Q. and Lorine Appling Williams and brother Donald Ray Williams.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday July 17, 2025, at 9:00am at Slavik Funeral Home chapel with a service beginning at 9:30am.  Interment to follow at Ganado City Cemetery.  Memorial donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Preschool where his great grandchildren are learning about Jesus.

In the words of Bobby - "It's not what you take with you on your final passing, but it's what you leave behind that really counts."

Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Slavik & Ganado Funeral Homes.
