Caroline V. Garza, 90, passed away Friday January 3, 2025. She was born on October 26, 1934, in Goliad County to Santos Munoz Valdez and Librada Zarate Valdez. Carolina is survived by her children, daughters Josie (Abel) Cruz of Edna, Lupe Lovely of Ganado and son Joe (Kristi) Garza of Ganado. Two grandchildren, Emma and Liam Garza of Ganado, and one step-grandchild Marsha (Bruce) David of Oklahoma. She is also survived by two brothers, John (Olga) Valdez of Victoria, Jimmy (Josie) Valdez of Victoria, and sister Lupe Hernandez of La Porte, Texas. Carolina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Tanis Garza, Sr., son Tanis "Tiney" Garza, Jr., and daughter Frances Garza. There will be a visitation on Friday January 10, 2025, beginning at 9:00am at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado, Texas with the recitation of the rosary starting at 9:30am. The funeral mass will begin at 10:00am with Father Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at Edna Latin America Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Abel Cruz, David Martinez, David Valdez, Joe John Valdez, John Valdez, Mike Salas, Patrick Valdez and Ruben Mejia. Honorary pallbearers are Emma Garza, Liam Garza, Patrick Hernandez, Dillion David, Dakota White, Joe Rodriguez and Bruce David.
Everyone is invited to join the family after graveside services for a meal at the Assumption Catholic Church Hall in Ganado, Texas.
