Catherine Lucille (Wilkerson) Campbell, 89 of Edna, Texas, passed away on October 31st, 2025. She was born in Westhoff, Texas on February 8, 1936, to the late Johnny Clyde Wilkerson and Carmen Lucille (Collins) Wilkerson. Catherine was married to the late Eugene Paul Campbell on June 13th, 1953. Catherine had many fond memories of her childhood, swimming at Robinson Ranch with her siblings, visiting cousins in Galveston, and playing along the seawall. She met her husband at school in Edna, and they were married soon after graduating high school. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who raised 5 girls in the country, in Morales, Texas. She loved to spend time with her family, camping, waterskiing, and attending fiddle contests all over Texas. She was very handy with a sewing machine and made much of her childrens clothing, along with being an avid reader and a wonderful cook. She loved shopping for a great bargain and usually found one. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Catherine is survived by her daughters; Debbie (Michael) Guilbeaux, Patricia Campbell, Lisa Trevino, Shari (Kenny) Ruzicka, and Christi (Douglas) Greer. She is also survived by her 3 sisters, LaVerne Ellison, LaNell (Chuck) Nelson, Ann Hessong and her partner, Henry Pena. Additionally, she is survived by 3 sisters-in-law, Nancy Rainwater, Patsy Kubala, and Linda Wilkerson, and one brother-in-law, Vernon Chapman. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents and husband; sister Nelda Faye Chapman, and brothers; Clifford (LaNoe) Wilkerson and Donald Lynn Wilkerson. She is also preceded in death by 4 brothers-in-law; Perry (Joyce) Campbell, Rex (Pattie) Campbell, Larry Kubala and Richard Ellison.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Slavik Funeral Home in Edna, Texas. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 at 10:30am at the Culpepper-Wilkerson Cemetery in Morales, Texas. The Family will then head to Pinto Bean in Edna, Tx to have a meal in honor of Catherine at her favorite restaurant and invite anyone who would like to attend.
