Clara Jeanette Gates

Clara Jeanette Gates, 68, of Edna, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021.  She was born in Liberty Texas on Saturday, May 9, 1953 to the late Raymond McClendon and Dolores Cloud.

Clara loved spending time in the woods and deer hunting.  She had a huge heart for all animals and has taken in just about every kind of animal at one point or another.  She loved crawfish and having a good time with her friends and family.

Clara is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Sowell of 34 years, her son Jake Wollman of Edna and daughter Chelsey and her husband Travis Guthrie of Edna.  She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Joshua, Zane, Jodi, Mkyah, Marlee and Bishop.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Shane Wollman and Kacey Sowell.

There will be a Memorial Service to honor the life of Clara on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel, 209 N. Allen Street, Edna, TX 77957, 361-782-2152.
