Edwin Charles Koudelka of Ganado, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.  He was born on Friday, June 19, 1925 in Moulton, Texas to Charles and Mary Holub Koudelks.  He was married to Aileen Shook Koudelka for over 63 years and together they raised their two children.

Edwin graduated from Ganado High School in 1943.  He then served in the US Army stationed in the Pacific during World War II.  After the Army, Edwin worked in the construction and iron worker industry for over 34 years.  He also raised cattle and farmed for almost 60 years.

Edwin is survived by his wife Aileen Koudelka, daughter Rebecca "Becky" Koudelka of Ganado, son Charles "Charlie" Koudelka and his wife Linda of Gilmer, Texas, three grandchildren; Grant Koudelka and his wife Paige of Lakewood, Colorado, Andrew Koudelka of Dallas, and Alexandra Koudelka of Gilmer.  His brother and sisters; Evelyn Dodds, Arnita Drastata, Dorothy Seiler, Eugene Koudelka, Genny Pruitt and numerous nieces and nephews.  Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Lillie Bures and Josephine Srubar.

Edwin enjoyed being on the farm tending the cows and fields and sitting under the giant live oak tree in the backyard watching the deer.  Also spending time with family, watching his grandkids play, and of course, listening to his polka music.

Services will be held on Monday, April 17th. 2023 at Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Rosary being recited at 9:30 am, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 am, interment will immediately follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
