Ernest E. Skarpa

Ernest E. Skarpa, 93, of Ganado, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, he was born on Wednesday, December 16, 1925 in Ganado to William and Annie Skarpa. After Ernest graduated from Ganado High School in 1944, he chose to serve our country, and joined the U.S. Army during WWII in July of 1944 thru August of 1946, then went on to serve in the Army Reserves from 1946 thru 1949. In September 1947, Ernest married the love of his life; Bessie.

Ernest is survived by hiswife, his daughters; Linda Kallus and her husbandGene, Nancy Joost and her husband Robert "Bob", his five grandchildren; Chris Joost and his wife Brooke, Stacey Joost Stokes and her husband Jon, Kimberly Kallus Thomas and her husband Michael, Kristin Kallus Shoemaker and her husband Mark, and Kelli Kallus Halepeska and her husband Jonathan, his eleven Great-Grandchildren; Megan, Melissa and Michelle Joost, Kathryn and Hannah Stokes, Aiden and Logan Thomas, Reid and Elly Shoemaker, Reagan and Rylie Halepeska. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother's Herman and Jerry Skarpa and sister; Emilee Skarpa Heitman,

There will be a visitation on Friday, November 22, 2019 beginning at 9:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Ganado with Pastor Ryan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Ganado City Cemetery with Military Honors being provided by Ganado VFW Post #346. Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 S.
