On Monday, June 15, 2020, Evelyn Frances Cernota Tegeler, loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away at her home at the age of 89. There will be a visitation beginning at 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Services at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado, Texas, with Margaret Jackson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Ganado City Cemetery.
Evelyn was born near Ganado, Texas on October 21, 1930, she was confirmed on April 12, 1946 at St. James Lutheran Church, she graduated rom Ganado High School in 1948 and enrolled in the Southwestern Business University in Houston, Texas. On September 21, 1950, she married the love of her life; Wilfred Tegeler at Faith American Church in Bellaire, Texas. Evelyn went to work at a Savings and Loan Company in Houston. She also worked as an accountant for several Local Businesses in Ganado; including Bep's Auto Supply and Auto Service. She enjoyed visiting with family, baking, sewing, gardening and planting flowers. She was a Sunday School teacher and served on church council at St. James Lutheran Church. With Wilfred, her husband of almost 70 years, her dream came true to raise three mischievous sons. She has been precededin death by her father; Emil Cernota, mother Julia Macha Cernota Wiese and sister Louise Macha Browning. She is survived by her loving husband, Wilfred and their three sons; Donnie, Rodney and wife Ida, and Harlan and wife Analee, grandchildren; Stefany and husband Terry Schade, Shaye and husband Nathan Walston Ashley and husband Lloyd Kleiman, Clinton Tegeler, Scott Tegeler, and Krysta and husband Jeremy Crist. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; Westley Schade, Brendyn, Dalten, and Lysette Walston, Coulton and Abigail Tegeler. Pallbearers are; Clinton Tegeler, Scott Tegeler, Jeremy Crist, Terry Schade, Nathan Walston and Lloyd Kleiman. Honorary Pallbearers are her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to thank the members of St. James Lutheran Church and members of the Ganado Community for their prayers, encouragement, and love.
