Fred Schultz Obituary

On Tuesday, December 9, 1930, Fred Henry Schultz was delivered into this world at home by his Oma Brinkman (grandmother).  He was welcomed by his parents, Henry Schultz and Annie Brinkman Schultz, his big brother Milton "Pete" and they were best friends their entire lives.

Fred's childhood was in Burleson County, later moving to Fort Bend County with his parents and brother, Pete.  During his childhood and adolescence, he farmed with his dad.  In 1950, he heard Alcoa Aluminum Plant in Point Comfort was hiring workers, so he applied and was hired.

In the meantime, he noticed a tall, skinny girl that lived nearby.  When he drove by he would look the other way.  Sometime later, that tall skinny girl, Maydline Schneider, became his wife and were married on April 29, 1950.  She joined him in Point Comfort.

At Alcoa, Fred became a first class machinist and loved his job.  Life was good and they decided to start their little family.  They were blessed with three children, Kathy Schultz Conn and her husband Darryl, Ricky Schultz and his wife Gina, Victoria "Toots" Schultz.  He often took the kids fishing, hunting, and played baseball with them.  Fred served on the Point Comfort Little League Board, the Volunteer Fire Department, and on the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Board.  He was also a member of the Bay Front Gun Club and received Expert Marksmanship trophies at the U.S. Department of Army competitions.

He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Jacob Schultz, Justin Schultz, Landon Schultz-Zwahr, Tiffany Butler and Lauren Schultz-Kappes, also step-grandchildren;  great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Fred retired from Alcoa after 37 years, purchased a home in the country near Edna, Texas and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, his cattle and all the work they bring.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Henry Schultz and Annie Brinkman Schultz, sisters, Ruby Jean Schultz Foret, Dorothy Schultz Kroll, and brother Milton "Pete" Schultz.

Fred left this world on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the age of 92.  We will Celebrate his life on Monday, April 24, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Visitation beginning at 12:noon until 1:00 pm followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paul Kaiser officiating.  Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Edna Cemetery.
