Herminia Perez, or Memo as she was affectionately called, passed away Wednesday July 30, 2025. She was born in El Campo Texas on December 9, 1939. She and her husband, Felix Perez Sr. married on February 11, 1956, lived and raised their 11 children in Louise, TX.
Memo became widowed at 37 and continued to raise their kids on her own, which speaks volumes of her love for her kids. Memo loved to talk about the old days, such as when she got married, when she could drive, and all that was in between. She loved her children, and more importantly, she loved all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending much of her time talking with her siblings and children, everyone who knows her knows that phone rang all the time. Sometimes, too much. She liked to talk about life and her soap operas, which she always made time for. Memo loved life, as she was with us for 85 years. Even though she could not see later in life, she always viewed things in a positive manner. Everyone who knew Memo said the same thing. She was a funny lady and was blunt about everything that she said. We will truly miss her. May she find peace now and forever.
Herminia is survived by her daughters Erlinda Burgan, Becky Gonzales (the late Johnnie Gonzales)(Noe), Sandra Castanon (Jesse), Peggy Vasquez (Chico Sr.) and Patricia Snodgrass (Ryan); sons Richard Perez, Sr. (the late Yolanda Perez), Albert Perez (Mary), George Perez (Lisa), Isidore Perez (Wanda), Felix "Chico" Perez, Jr. (Samantha), and Phillip Perez (Lisa); sisters Maria Ninfa Martinez, Lidia Savala and Adelaya Gonzales; brothers Genaro Tamez and Arturo Tamez; 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Felix Perez, Sr.; parents Abel and Dominga Tamez; and brothers Juan Tamez, Nestor Tamez, and Abel Tamez, Jr.
