Iris Leona (Walleck) Mican Obituary

Iris Leona Mican, 89, of Blessing, passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2025.  She was born to the late Carl Walleck and Alma (Scheel) Walleck in Ganado, Texas on July 24, 1936.  She belonged to the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Blessing.  She was employed by Tidehaven ISD as a cafeteria lady and bus driver for 44 years.  Iris was also a seamstress, member of a birthday club and a bowling league.  She was married to Leonard Mican for over 50 years. She is survived by 1 daughter, Theresa; 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Melissa; 4 great grandchildren, Megan, Chance, Jonathon, and Faith; 1 brother; Sylvester Walleck and 2 sisters; Anna Cessor and Ethelene Schefcik, 2 great great grandchildren, Ryder and Scarlett.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother; Ernest Walleck, 2 husbands (Joe Edward Allen and Leonard Mican), great grandchild, Aaron and 1 sister; Albina Joines.  The family will receive visitors on Tuesday December 9, 2025, 4:00pm-6:00pm at Ganado Funeral Home chapel.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday December 10, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Services are entrusted to Ganado Funeral Home.
