In his spare time, he would play golf and go cut a rug with Mary, "MaMaw", at dances with their friends. James was always happy and rarely missed an occasion with his family and friends, he enjoyed the company of everyone.
James is survived by his loving wife, Mary, of almost 60 years; his three sons, Michael (Christina) Webel of California, Douglas (Susan) Webel of Ganado, and Ricky (Kim) Webel of Round Rock; one brother and three sisters, Billy (Sheila) Webel, Barbara (Felix) Alvarez, both from El Campo, Willie (Mae) Mussehl, of Wisconsin, Aline (Robert) Garza of Wharton; five grandkids and five great-grandkids, Derek and Stephanie Steadham and their daughter Aubrey of Ganado, Kaden and Maci Webel of Round Rock, Julie Davis, and her children; Brayson, Cameron and Lily of Port O'Connor, Kelci and Jacob Heimann and their daughter Kinzleigh of Victoria. Lots of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends, which he all dearly loved. James is preceded into heaven by his parents, William "Willie" and Adeline Webel.
