Joe Lawrence Girndt, 60 of Ganado went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2022. He was born on Monday, February 12, 1962 in Huntsville, Walker County, Texas to Bobby J. Girndt and Virginia Charlene "Char" Girndt.
Joe was a farmer in Jackson County in his earlier years with his father in law, Leo and brother in law John. He was currently a retired corrections officer. Joe moved to Ganado with his parents when he was 5 years old and has gained many friends throughout his life. He loved spending time with his family and friends at the bay house. His pride and joy were most definitely his children, Craig and Liz. If you knew Joe, you knew he was always a jokester and loved his family and his dog Rip. Sitting on the porch swing with Lei Ann and drinking a beer was where you could fine him, or at the bay house with his longtime friend Shayne.
Joe is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lei Ann Girndt, his children, Craig Girndt and wife Joy, and Elizabeth Girndt and his mother in law Lanoe Macha. He is also survived by brother in law John Macha and wife Loretta, brother in law Carl Korth, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed greatly by his best buddy, Rip, his little dachshund.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, father in law, Leo Macha and his brother and sister, Scott Girndt and Janet Korth.
The family will receive visitors at 9:am on Saturday, September 3, 2022 with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 10:am at the Ganado Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Red Hensley officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Ganado Education Foundation at P.O. Box 1234 Ganado, TX 77962. The family of Joe would like to extend a special thank you to Jackson County Home Health.
Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 S. Third St. Ganado, TX 77962, 361-771-2120.
