Joe Daniel Sulak Obituary

Joe D. (JD) Sulak, a beloved member of the Ganado, Texas community, passed away peacefully July 3, 2025. Joe was known for his warm heart, unwavering dedication to his family, and his deep-rooted faith.

Born and raised in Ganado, Joe was a lifelong resident who cherished his hometown. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Joe’s kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he was a pillar of strength and support for those who knew him. Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a retired machinist of forty years at Alcoa Aluminum in Point Comfort, Texas.

Joe is survived by his children, Marty Sulak, Ralph Sulak, and Sharon Skoruppa (Mark). Joe is also survived by his grandchildren Jason Sulak, Justin Wooldridge, Cody Sulak, Josh Skoruppa, Brett Skoruppa, Macy Sulak, Ethan Sulak, and seven great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Argo Sulak, daughter Jan Wooldridge, his parents Joseph V. Sulak and Julia Dybala Sulak. Joe was also preceded in death by his siblings Bernard Sulak, Anne Moore, Mary Jane Rod, Irene Psencik, and Mabel Liberda.

Joe D. Sulak’s life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and community. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A visitation will be held at the Assumption Catholic Church in Ganado, Texas on July 10, 2025, at 9 am followed by a rosary at 9:30 am and funeral mass at 10 am. Interment will follow at the Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew Darrell Argo. A celebration of life catered meal will follow at the Assumption Parish Hall in Ganado, Texas.
