Lucille (Callaway) Brisbois Obituary

Lucille Callaway Brisbois passed away on Friday March 7, 2025, at the age of 88.  She was born on February 11, 1937, in Edna, Texas to Tom and Selena Egg Callaway.  She was a graduate of Edna High School, attended Victoria College and then graduated from Texas A&I where she received her teaching certification.  She had a great love for music and played the piano, organ and baritone. She was a volunteer pink lady for many years, a member of the Mustang Squares and a member of the First Methodist Church in Ganado, where she was still the organist.  She is survived by her husband of 65 years Millard Brisbois, her daughters Rhonda Garner and Cindy Hlavaty (Mark), her son-in-law David Bures, sister-in-law Jonel Knuppel (Royce), her grandchildren Wayne Stancik (Amy), Sara Stancik, Shelley Smith (Ryan), David Lee Bures (Amanda), Stefanie Hutchison (Glen), Hunter Hlavaty, and Derrick Hlavaty.  She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Maverick Stancik, Kollyns and Hudson Muschalek, Abigail Smith, Bradley and Carlee Bures, and Aubree and Callaway Hutchison. She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Renee' Brisbois Bures, brother Delbert Callaway, sisters Marion Frances Simons and Marjorie Kirkpatrick.  She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.  The family will receive visitors on Sunday March 9, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Ganado Funeral Home chapel.  A funeral service will be held on Monday March 10, 2025, 10:00am at First Methodist Church in Ganado, Texas with interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Edna Cemetery.   Pallbearers are grandsons Wayne Stancik, Hunter Hlavaty, Derrick Hlavaty, David Lee Bures, Glen Hutchison and Ryan Smith.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Methodist Church 200 Twin Oaks Blvd Ganado, TX 77962. Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Ganado & Slavik Funeral Homes.
