Graveside service for Lydia "Elaine" Shutt, 89 will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg, Texas with Pastor Charles Surovik officiating.
Lydia "Elaine Cooke Shutt was born in Hempstead, Texas on December 11, 1930 and passed into the presence of Jesus on June 24, 2020 in College Station, TX. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years. Herbert Shutt of Rosenberg, Texas; Jefferson and Lydia Cooke; sisters, Anna Marie Farquhar and Elsie Stewart; and son, Richard A Shutt.
Elaine and Herb met as students at the University of Houston in 1948 and married soon after. They raised their family in Houston before moving to Rosenberg in 1978. She and Herbert were faithful members of New Covenant Fellowship for over thirty years. Elaine was a sweet-spirited wife, mother and grandmother. She was cheerfully devoted to her family, friends, and the Body of Christ. We will miss her very much but look forward to being with her again in glory with the risen Christ.
Mrs. Shutt is survived by her children, John Shutt and wife Sandra, of Edna; Susan Shutt Lewis and husband Len, of Fort Worth and Jason and wife Elaine of College Station; granddaughters; Sara Lohman, Jane Schnier, Amy Bettis, Susanna Shutt, Elizzabeth Shutt, and Miriam Shutt; grandsons; Matt Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Mark Shutt, Cyrus Shutt and Daniel Shutt, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews from her Shutt and Cook relations.
