Robert Alfaro, 78, left us April 21, 2024, with his family by his side. Robert was born on April 27, 1945, in Edna, Texas to Pedro and Aurora Alfaro. Pedro was a strong and devoted husband, father and grandfather who worked at Jefferson Davis Hospital. He loved his yard and was always doing something to his yellow truck. Aurora was an excellent wife, nurturing mother and impressive cook, especially her tamales. Aurora loved her grandkids, baking and cooking for her family. Robert spent much of his time traveling, going to casinos and making memories with everyone he met. He loved his career managing motels; he took so much pride in making every motel great! Robert was very talented and excelled in this field. He loved making something great out of every situation. He always put people and family first, even before his very own needs. He considered everyone to be family. Robert loved so hard and gave so much. He would open his home to you, give you a place to stay, feed you and spend hours listening to you. Robert would give you the shirt off his back or jewelry he had on. He had no interest in material things. Robert spent his life putting smiles on others and watching them fill with joy. He helped many people in his career; he would see their potential and build them up. Robert was only a phone call away. He always believed in helping others especially family. You could call him for advice, to vent or even a place to say for a few days. If you needed anything Robert was always there. He would drop everything to go to you if you needed anything. Robert loved to get together with friends and family during the holidays and especially on Mardi Gras. Robert loved his dog Coco; he would spoil him year-round. He would even take him to work and keep him at the office; Coco was a big part of his life. Robert and his partner, Tony, spent many years together. They were very happy until Tony was suddenly called home.
Robert is survived by sisters Emma Alfaro and Mary & Ernest Garcia, brothers Pete and Luisa Alfaro, Rudy and Alicia Alfaro, and Gilbert and Janie Alfaro and countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro and Aurora Alfaro, brother Gilbert Alfaro and partner & companion Tony.
Memorial services will commence on Friday May 10, 2024, at 1:00pm at Slavik Funeral Home Chapel.
