Marie Elena was born on July 21, 1941 and passed away November 21, 2025 exactly 4 months to the day after her 84th birthday. She married Albert Hart on August 5, 1989.  They were married for 31 years. She loved Albert with all her heart.  Marie had one son, Perry, whom she adored. He would call to check on her every day.  Marie had two grandchildren, Tasha Smith and Christopher Graham. She often said Tasha was more like a daughter to her. Tasha took care of Marie until the very end. Marie loved all her great-grandchildren, each and every one in their own special way.  Marie loved her only sister Peggy Bubela who was 4 years younger. They spoke by phone and texted, but did not get to see each other often due to health issues.  Something that some may not know about Marie is she loved cats.  They gave her trouble at times but that was ok because they gave her so much pleasure and was fun to watch. She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching Macilyn Hickey teach God's Word on TV. Marie really liked to go fishing when she had the opportunity.  She liked the color red as did her late grandmother Dollie Dunn.  Marie enjoyed seeing and liked the bromeliad flower which had red in the center of it.  She was a devoted Christian, kind-hearted, always had a smile on her face and would never complain.  When asked of her if anything is wrong, she would always reply “Oh, I’m OK”.  Marie will be remembered for her love of God, love of family and her famous buttermilk pies.  The one request from family and church members was bring a buttermilk pie and don’t forget the recipe.  She worked for years for Gary & Carlene Olson family whom she truly admired, respected, and loved.  Marie loved all her family and bringing them all into the house of the Lord.  We all will miss her, love her, remember the good times and have the assurance in our hearts that she is with her Savior, has a new body and greeted by loving family members, her mother Allene Freeman and her daddy Clyde Freeman whom she loved dearly.  A visitation will be held on Monday November 24, 2025 at 10:00am with a graveside service beginning at 11:00am at Ganado City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Ganado & Slavik funeral homes.
