Martha Theresia Riel Kresta, 88, passed away on Friday August 15, 2025.  She was born on March 27, 1937, in Maxlrain, Bavaria, Germany to Anton and Therese Sams Riel.  She is survived by her daughters Geraldine Tobola (Mark), Barbara Thigpen (Carl), and Cynthia Adams (Todd); son Anthony Kresta (Jennifer); and grandchildren Lucas Blanchard, Caitlin Kresta, Jamie Kresta, Violet Thigpen, James Adams, and Sarah Burttschell (Bruce). Martha is preceded in death by her parents, husband James L. Kresta; brother Toni Riel and niece Sonja Eckl-Riel.  A visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 5:00pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Vanderbilt, Texas.  The funeral mass will be Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00am with Father Johnson Owusu-Boateng officiating.  Interment to follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery.  Pallbearers are Lucas Blanchard, James Adams, Bobby J. Gendke, Sam Seale, Donald McNabb, and Bruce Burttschell.  Honorary pallbearers are Randy Cantrell, Lloyd Kulak, Wyly Harris and David Steffek.  Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Slavik Funeral Home.
