Milton Bain Obituary

Milton Louis Bain, 81, of Edna passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his home in Edna, surrounded by his loving family. 

There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 9:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am with Pastor Paul Kaiser officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bain Family Cemetery also in Edna. 

Milton was born in Louise to R.T. and Helen Tucker Bain on Monday, December 12, 1938. He was a graduate of Edna High School. On Sunday, August 27, 1961 Milton married the love of his life Marjorie Ann Kuretsch in Ganado. He worked for HEB for seven years and then DuPont for twenty-six years. After retiring from DuPont, he worked at ADM Nutrition for nineteen years selling feed. He served in the Army from October 1960 to April 1961 and continued in the National Guard with Summer Camps and monthly meetings until 1968. He served as the Jackson County Youth Fair President from 1981 to 1989 and again in 1994 to 1995. He served on the Swine Committee for several years before becoming president.  He also served as the St. Paul Church Properties Board Chairman for many years.  Milton loved the outdoors and working outside in the yard, garden or pasture.  He also loved working with his cattle and hogs for years.

Milton has been preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Loraine Bain and his brother-in-law, Mark Anders.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Marjorie Bain of Edna, son, Dennis and Marta Bain of Inez, daughter, Shari and Brent Blanar of Pearland, sisters, Nelda and Fred Siecko of Yoakum, Barbara and Larry Sowell, and Mary Lou and Wayne Hunt of Edna, granddaughters, Shelby Blanar of Pearland, Katie Blanar of Corpus Christi, Brandi and Josh Swint of El Campo and grandson Brad and Jen Bain of Leander, and great-grandsons Hunter and Fischer Swint of El Campo and Brayden Bain of Leander.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Jonathan Anders, Justin Bonnot, Kevin Garraway, Ralph McClendon, Pat McCormack and Tommy Sowell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jose Galvan, Gene Kallus, Marvin Lesikar, Rex McCord, Robert Nagel, Timmy Prohasks, Karl Reckaway, Don Sachtleben, Clarence Schomburg, Darrell Sklar, Shane Sklar, Doug Tise, Lynn Utz and Steven Whitehead. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Hospice of South Texas, 605 E. Locust Ave., Victoria, TX 77901 or St. Paul Lutheran Church in Edna in Memory of Milton.

The family of Milton Bain wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Gulshan Minocha, Denise Fielder, Jackson County Home Health and staff, Jackson County Hospital and staff, Dr. Scott Manatt and staff, Dr. Terry Whitehouse, Hospice of South Texas and staff, Pastor Paul Kaiser and St. Paul Lutheran prayer warriors.  We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to his caregivers over the years, Mary and Jesse Ballin, Mary Lee Molina, Vicky Cruz, Emily Diaz and Josie Garcia, Jesse Ballin and Jesse Ballin, Jr. for doing yard work, Mary Lou and Wayne Hunt and Jose Galvan for helping  with yard work or when extra help was needed with Milton.
