Priscilla Ann Fitzgerald Hurta (March 25, 1944 – December 23, 2025)

Priscilla Ann Fitzgerald Hurta, 81, of Midfield, Texas and formerly of Edna, Texas, went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2025. She was born to Jimmie (Bob) and Minnie Faye Massoletti Fitzgerald in El Campo, Texas.

She graduated from Tidehaven High School in May,1962. She worked for Wells Wright in Edna, Edna ISD, and was a Jackson County Commissioner (Pct. 3) for 12 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Edna, Texas, and a member of Cecil Lee Post 649 Auxiliary. She loved serving her community and spending quality time with her family and friends. She especially loved seeing her children and grandchildren and spending time with them. She hosted Thanksgiving dinner for years at her home in Edna and then in Midfield when she moved there. She also loved to travel, go on cruises, and fishing became a late in life passion she never expected.

Survivors include her daughters Lynda (Lee)Treybig and Brenda (Wayne) Stewart and son Jason (Traci) Hurta, brothers James (Tina) Fitzgerald, Frank (Shelly) Fitzgerald, sister Addelia (CD) Magee, grandchildren Anthony Stewart, Samantha Dauer, Steven Dauer, Jamye Simpson, Jake Brooks, Cole Hurta, Makenzie Hurta, Madison Hurta and 9 great grandchildren and a great number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Leroy Fitzgerald, husband (high school sweetheart) Edwin E. Hurta, Jr., Edwin Skalicky, and special friend Micky McGinnes.

Pallbearers are Cole Hurta, Tony Stewart, Jake Brooks, Danny Fitgerald, Jason Fitzgerald, and Bishop Fitzgerald.

Services are at the First United Methodist Church Edna, Pastor Jacob Hunter officiating, on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Memory Gardens of Edna Cemetery, Edna, Texas.
