Ruben Bermea Obituary

Ruben was born on March 16th, 1964, to Robert, Sr. and Sally Bermea of Ganado and passed away on May 29th, 2022, at the age of 58.  He is preceded in death by his father Robert Bermea, Sr. and survived by his wife Leticia Bermea and Mother Sally Bermea.

Ruben shared a life of love and laughter and is also survived by many siblings, children and grandchildren. Diane and Tommy, Sr. Tristan, Carolyn and Larry Hardeway, Molly and Danny Sless, Abraham Bermea, Robert Bermea, Jr., children; Anthony Leal, Angie Villarreal, Issac Leal, Monique Leal, Kaleb Leal, Rick Townley, Sal Townley, Patricia Perez, Cynthia Perez and fifteen grandchildren.  Ruben was a man of many hats and that has proven to be true in more ways than one.  He did in fact own many hats and you could usually find him moseying around town in his famous fedora or top hat precisely with a feather sticking out. But, also in the way he played so many different roles in so many lives.  Stemming back to his years of raising his young children he was very much involved in all aspects of their lives and everything they were involved in.  He coached many young kids and taught them the love of a game but life lessons along the way.  Whether he was being Uncle Ruben to all the kids in his family, or if he was coaching, umpiring, or being a supporter from the stands, which was hardly ever because you couldn't keep him off the fields or court, he impacted lives as a leader and a role model to almost everyone who knew him.  He spent the better part of his life being the helping hand anyone ever needed, and he knew no stranger.  He was willing to do what needed to be done at any time.  He spent many years serving his community in all sorts of ways including being a member and Chief of the Vanderbilt Volunteer Fire Department and loved every minute of it.  On December 30th, 2017, Ruben married his love, Leticia and from there moving forward they were double the trouble, double the fun.  You would never see one without the other, they were joined at the hip.  They shared the love of family, fishing, camping, socializing and having a good time.  Ruben loved being the sunshine and smile in your day you didn't even know you needed.  He had the most vivacious personality and all who knew him were well aware that he was the life of every party.  You could always find him at the DJ booth stealing the show with the mic in his hand.  He loved big and he loved hard and he made sure everyone around him knew it.  He left a legacy in so many lives of love, strength, resilience and so much laughter.  His memory and spirit will live on in the lives of his friends, family, children and grandchildren.
