Sharon Annette (Hicks) Green

Sharon Annette Hicks Green went home to be with Our Lord on Friday, October 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  Sharon was born on Sunday, January 27, 1952 in Ganado, Texas.  She graduated from Ganado High School and enjoyed attending all of the school's athletic events throughout her life.  Sharon enjoyed several jobs, some of her favorites included working at Pop's, the deli next to the high school in New Jersey, and as a detention officer for the Jackson County Jail.  Sharon never met a stranger and treated everyone with compassion.  She received several letters from those she met at the jail thanking her for supporting them through difficult times.

By far her favorite hobby was spending time with her family.  From late night talks to early morning card games that lasted all day, there were many memories made and laughs shared.  Sharon's grandchildren were the light of her life.  She loved watching them play their favorite sports and rarely missed a game.  Sharon devoted her life to her family and those she loved.  She was an affectionate and loving mother to her three girls and would let everyone know how proud she was of them.

Sharon is survived by her three daughters, Rachel Knebel (Tony), Ashley Riojas (Jason) and Colleen Green-Abraham (Sydney); her grandchildren, Valyn Knebel, Logan Riojas, and Brianna Riojas; her siblings; Kathy Blount, Brian Hicks (Sharon), Timothy "Timbo" Hicks, Michele Beard, Cindy Bures (Dennis "Rabbit"), Terre Hinojosa (Oscar), Renee Moore, Tommy Hicks (Sheri), and James Hicks (Debbie); twenty-four nieces and nephews, and forty-eight great-nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents BW Hicks and Theresa Liberda Hicks.

The pallbearers will be Logan Riojas, Jason Riojas, Tony Knebel, Herman Aguilar, Jeremy  Hicks, and Oscar Hinojosa.

There will be a visitation on Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ganado Funeral Home Chapel, Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, Morning at 10:00 am at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Greg Korenek officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Ganado.
