Shelton Kuhlman, 74, of Ganado, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday February 4, 2020. Shelton was born at home in Ganado on November 27, 1945 to his parents; Walter and Gertrude Schomburg Kuhlman. Shelton started ranching at an early age with his dad, and after graduation from Ganado High School, he married the love of his life; Paula Roehe, and together they became ranchers. Shelton was baptized and confirmed in St. James Lutheran Church, Shelton's Grandpa Schomburg was a founder of St. James Lutheran Church, he passed in February of 1918 of the Spanish Flu. Shelton loved to be in the outdoors, hunting and fishing every chance he could. .
Shelton is survived by his wife of 50 years; Paula, his special nephew; Scott and Debbie Quarles, great-nephews; Clay and Sam Quarles, nieces; Gay Lyn Pagel Wisko, Carol Quarles Rovnozky, nephew Rodd Pagel and his special pal "Bandit" He is preceded in death by parents; and sister Maureen Pagel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. James Lutheran Church. There will be a visitation on Friday, February 7, 2020 beginning at 9:00 am, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 am with SAM Michelle Schlinke officiating. Interment will follow at Ganado City Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Russell Todish of Ganado Funeral Home, 800 S. Third St. Ganado, TX 77962, 361-771-2120.
