Shirley Ann (Husak) Walleck from Elgin, Texas, formerly from Edna, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 89 on Monday, December 1, 2025. Shirley was born on February 12, 1936 to Jerry Husak, Jr and Augusta Cernota Husak. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband of 61 years, Joe M. Walleck, her sister Dorothy Counts, and brother Jerry Husak III.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Lynn Walleck and wife Karen, Ronald Walleck and wife Elisabeth, grandchildren Brandon Walleck and wife Mary, Brooke Vyoral and husband Cody, Austen Walleck and Ashley Walleck. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Lane & Lana Vyoral.
Shirley was a devout Christian, attending both St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Edna throughout her life. She served as Treasurer of her church for many years.
Shirley was a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was very active in her sons' lives as a Team Mom for their Little League teams, working with 4-H, and attending all of their games and events.
Shirley worked as the school secretary for many years at Carver Elementary School in Edna. She loved all the children like her own.
A visitation will be held on Friday December 5, 2025, at 10:00am at St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado, Texas with a funeral service beginning at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Ganado City Cemetery. Pallbearers include Brandon Walleck, Cody Vyoral, Austen Walleck, Ashley Walleck, Lynn Walleck, and Ronald Walleck.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. James Lutheran Church.
Services are entrusted to the Todish family of Ganado & Slavik Funeral Homes.
