Thomas Jerome "Jerry" Browning

Thomas Jerome Browning of Edna, Texas known by most as Jerry, some by his CB Handle of Sodbuster, passed away on April 30th, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Browning and Juanita Koop Browning, his first wife Lajuana, and his second wife, Linda.  Jerry is survived by his brother, Pat Browning, his sisters, Susan Young and Betty Lynch, his son Tommy, daughter-in-law, Laure, his daughter Stacy, son-in-law,  Mark Powell, his grandchildren, Matthew, Morgan, and Gracie Browning, Amanda and Sara Powell, and a great grandson, Eneko, and many, many cousins and friends.

Jerry was born on November 21st, 1947 at his home in Edna, where he continued to live for 75 years.  He served his country that he loved very much in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and then returned home to work with his family farming, and then continued farming on his own.  He worked hard for his family, and whenever he could, he would retreat to his deer lease where he spent time enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Jerry loved spending time with his family, and his church family as a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Edna his entire life.  We are all comforted in knowing that he had a relationship with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that he is no longer in pain or suffering, that he is with his other loved ones who passed before him, and that all of us saved by the Grace of Jesus, will see him again in heaven for eternity.

Jerry's family and church will host a memorial service on Tuesday, May 2nd at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Edna with a visitation to begin at 10:00 am, Services will immediately follow at 11:00 am, and a lunch in the fellowship hall at noon.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
