Thomas Albert Waynick Obituary

Thomas Albert Waynick, 93, loving husband, father and grandfather went to be with the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. Tom was born on December 16, 1931, to Andrew Bernard and Mary nee Holden Waynick in Greensboro, North Carolina. After graduating from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, he entered the United States Air Force and serve 26 years. While stationed at Ellington Field in Houston, Tom met the love of his life, Dorothy Marie Roehl of Ganado, Texas. They were united in marriage on April 9, 1955, and remained devoted to one another until Dorothy’s passing on January 24, 2017.

Thomas is survived by his daughter, Lisa Wiggins of Houston, his sons Thomas C. Waynick (Diane) of Midland, Georgia, and Jeffery Waynick of Ganado, as well as his three grandchildren; Sara Smith (Matt) of Auburn, Alabama, Stephen Waynick of Columbus, Georgia, and Daniel Waynick of Los Angeles, California. Thomas outlived all eight of his brothers and sisters.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed with a celebration of life service at 10:00 am on Friday, April 25, 2025, at St. James Lutheran Church in Ganado. Interment with military honors will follow at the Ganado City Cemetery.
