Tomas F. Gutierres

Tomas F. Gutierres, 64, passed away February 14, 2024, doing what he loved to do.  Tomas was born on August 24, 1959 in Ganado  to Manuel P. Gutierres and Ernestina Maria Flores Guiterres. 

Tomas worked with Brown and Root out of Houston, Texas as a millwright in his younger days.  He was part of the construction crew that built the STP Plant in Bay City.  He was a quiet, kind and respectful person.  He loved God and his family very much.  He enjoyed reading his Bible.  Tomas was an avid fisherman and spent most of his time fishing with friends, but enjoyed fishing alone also.  He loved playing checkers and chess.  He had some fierce and competitive chess games with his brothers and Dad.  He also enjoyed "playing" with his nunchucks.  Growing up, he got quite good with them and entertained the family every chance he got. 

Tomas has been survived by his beloved family; Irma G. Zamora and her husband Lupe of Houston, Wanda G. Hernandez and her husband Leo of Houston, Olga Margeson of Victoria, Juan Gutierrez and his wife Minerva of San Antonio, Ismael Gutierres and his wife Mary of Inez and Ernest Gutierres and his wife Marcia of Edna.  Tomas has been preceded in death by his parents, Ernestina Maria F. Gutierres and Manuel P. Gutierres, also his brothers; Manuel Gutierres, Jr., and Daniel M. Gutierres. 

Visitation will be held at 9:30am Saturday February 24, 2024 at the Slavik Funeral Home chapel with funeral service to follow at 10:00am.  Interment to follow at Edna Latin America cemetery.
