Virginia McBride Obituary

Virginia Cody McBride, 85 of Lolita, Texas, passed away on November 30, 2025.  She was born in Mineola, Texas on May 7, 1940 to the late Lloyd and Mertie Cody.  Virginia grew up in Point Comfort with her older brother, Lloyd and went to Calhoun High School.  She married her sweetheart, AW McBride and they moved to Lolita to raise their sons, Royce McBride and Jason McBride.  She went to work at Industrial ISD in various positions starting at La Ward Elementary, then moving to Lolita Jr. High and ending her career at Vanderbilt High School after her sons started school.  She retired after 21 years and then worked at the First Baptist Church of Lolita.  Virginia was devoted to the community and church her and AW raised their family.  She loved to travel, play bridge and spend time with her family and friends.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.  


Virginia is survived by her youngest son, Jason (Jacqlyn) McBride, grandchildren, Alysa (Brandon) Guerrero, Brandon (Raven) Davis, Andrew (Valerie) Davis, Shelby McBride, and 3 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother Llyod (Genny) Cody along with many nieces, nephews.


Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mertie Cody, her husband, AW McBride and oldest son, Royce McBride.


A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lolita on December 13, 2025 at 11am.  A luncheon for the family will be held following services.
