Wanda Jo Jenkins entered eternal rest on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the age of 86. She was born on August 2, 1939 in Wharton, Texas to the late Joseph and Doris Jenkins
Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cooking and gardening. Wanda worked in several positions at Jackson County Hospital and was the Shoe Department Manager at WalMart when she retired. She served as the church secretary at the First Assembly of God for many years. Above all, she loved Jesus and just wanted others to love Him too.
Wanda is survived by her son; Daylon and his wife Pam Tompkins, and her grandchildren; Corey and Ashley, Carissa, Beth, Jody, Shawn, Kelly, Haylea and Bryson, and Garrett and Carlee. Great Grandchildren; Caiton, Cash, Cambree, Brylea and Colt, also brothers Herbert Jenkins and Danny Jenkins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda has been preceded in death by her parents, husband George "Sonny", sons; Michael and Ronnie, daughters; Rhonda and Sherry, brother; Albert, sisters; Mary and her husband Sonny and Darlene.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 10:00 a at First Assembly of God Church, 115 W. Cypress St., Edna. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am with David Murff officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Edna, Texas.
Pallbearers will be: Blake Eschenburg, Garrett Tompkins, Geno Eschenburg, Corey Ferguson, Stephen Jenkins and Jason Murff.
